Ingredients for Crockpot Lasagna:
- 1 lb. of cooked sausage links cut into coins
- 16 oz. of Ricotta Cheese
- 16 oz. of Mozzarella Cheese
- 16 oz. of Gravy
- 2 lbs. of Lasagna pasta
How to Assemble the Crockpot Lasagna:
Start by coating the bottom of your crockpot with just enough gravy to wet it. Putting gravy on the bottom will prevent the first layer of pasta from burning and from sticking to the crockpot.
Put the uncooked pasta on top of the gravy. I include two stacked pieces of lasagna for each layer of pasta. Break your pasta into pieces so it covers the entire layer.
After you’ve broken the lasagna pieces and assembled a full layer of pasta across the crockpot, add a layer of ricotta cheese. Push the ricotta completely across the crockpot all the wat to the edges. If the small loose pieces of pasta move, try to push them back into an even layer.
Next, take the cooked sausage and spread them out across the ricotta layer, slightly pushing them into position. I cooked and quartered this sausage the day before and left it in the fridge until I was ready to use them.
And my absolute favorite part… cover well with mozzarella cheese!
After you’ve added mozzarella to your heart’s fullest desires, cover with new layer of gravy. Then you’re back to a new layer of pasta!
Repeat these layers until you run out of ingredients or room in your crockpot!
Cooking the Crockpot Lasagna:
Cook on high for 3-4 hours or low for 6. You know your crockpot best, so if you’re cooking on high for the first time, you may want to check it around 3 hours with a fork. Touch the top layer of pasta to check if it’s tender/al dente or still uncooked.
This lasagna is incredibly delicious, but it doesn’t lift out of the crockpot beautifully like lasagna in a pan. It’s easiest to use a serving spoon to dish this out.
